Course Overview
The 8-week Programming course is designed to introduce participants to programming fundamentals using C#. This course provides a structured and comprehensive learning path, progressing through core programming concepts such as variables, control structures, methods, and object-oriented programming (OOP).

Each week builds on the previous one, ensuring a solid foundation and gradual advancement in coding skills. Participants will also learn about arrays, collections, and basic debugging techniques. By the end of the course, students will have the knowledge and confidence to write code.

Students who want to continue after 8-weeks will continue building confidence with coding by walking through projects and will be introduced to more advanced concepts.

Although this Beginner Programming course is taught using Microsoft’s C#, the coding concepts learned can be used with other languages such as Python or Javascript.

This course is taught by Ryan Schlomer (239-203-7797), who has over 20 years in the software development industry.

Prerequisites
No prior programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with basic computer operations (e.g., using a web browser and some typing) will be helpful. Enthusiasm for learning programming and a willingness to practice outside of class are key to success in this course.

For the beginner programming classes, almost any device (laptop, tablet, phone) with a web browser can work. A laptopĀ  is recommended, but a tablet with a full keyboard can work. Students can bring their laptops to class and practice writing code in class and at home during the week.
